MUSIC THERAPY

Music therapy is a creative and often familiar medium that enables individuals to explore themselves in a creative and familiar space. Many of us use music therapeutically in our everyday lives without being fully aware of the power it can have in uncovering and approaching our memories, anxieties, worries, fears, and desires. As a music therapist, I employ elements of music listening, song-writing, improvisation, and music relaxation exercises to allow individuals to harness the natural power of music within the therapeutic setting to address any present needs. It is important to note that you do not need any prior experience with formal music training to gain the benefits of music therapy. Music therapy is grounded in the knowledge that we all have a music-self that can allow for creative nurturance when activated.
